Before deciding to go forward with a divorce in Massachusetts, people may wonder what they are going to regret when all is said and done. Even if they know that the divorce is the best option in their situation, they are still going to be curious about it. Well, thanks to a recent report that came out about secrets that people shared — their names were not attached — it is now possible to see what people regret the most.
Not surprisingly, many of the regrets centered around their children.
One person said that they missed their son to the point that they would take his blanket to bed when he was not at the house. They did get to see the boy on every other weekend, and he was at the home twice a week as well, but the parent would do that on the off days.
Another person did not specify what had gone wrong, but said that they regretted the impact that the divorce had had on the children. Still another person said that they felt that they’d failed their children, and one parent said that they felt that their son’s bad grades were because of the divorce.
Over and over, they talked about how hard it was to share the children.
This does not mean that a divorce should not happen, but it does show just how important it is for all parents to know their rights when setting up a visitation plan or a child custody agreement. They need to find something that allows them to still be involved with their children, as well as something that has the best interests of the children at its heart.
