How Long Does The Divorce Process Take?

The length of the divorce process is one of the biggest variables. Factors that can influence the length of the process include whether you are interested in a contested or uncontested divorce, how complete and accurate your paperwork is, and whether your spouse disagrees with any of your grounds for divorce.

How Quickly Can We Get Custody And Support Arrangements In Place?

It can take months to agree on the final custody and support arrangements. However, if you and your spouse need the court to address important issues immediately, you can request motions for temporary orders. Temporary orders can be used to address parenting plans, child and spousal support, and other issues that the parties are unable to agree on. In most situations, once a temporary order is created, it remains in effect until a new order is created or the final decision is reached.

How Will Our Property Be Divided?

Massachusetts is an equitable division state, which means that property is divided equitably — not necessarily equally — between the two divorcing parties. We work closely with our clients to ensure that all assets are accurately identified, valued and divided.

In many high-asset divorces, property division and the related tax issues can be complicated. If you would like a second opinion on your divorce settlement, our lawyers are here to help.

Is Mediation Right For My Case?

Divorce mediation can be advantageous for divorcing couples who agree on a majority of the issues, who want to remain in control of the outcome, and who want to save time and money as they work through the process. However, if both parties are not able to reach an agreement, an experienced trial lawyer can help ensure your best interests are protected.

She Was Aggressive And Never Backed Down

I found Lisa through reviews and was not disappointed. Lisa and her staff were great! They were very supportive and explained everything. She was aggressive and never backed down, even when I wanted to settle. She always looked out for my best interest, even when I didn’t want to. I can’t recall a single debate she lost during the entire case. If I were ever in a similar situation again (which will not be anytime in the foreseeable future!), I would call Lisa.
