Man with 30 children struggles to pay child support

Child support payments are often a necessary part of a divorce when couples have children together. The payments are used to give children a stable life. When one parent fails to pay child support, it seems that everyone suffers.

While many parents in Massachusetts have trouble keeping up with child support payments for only a few children, a man has gained notoriety in the press recently after reportedly fathering over 30 children. The man, dubbed 'Octodad' by the press, says he is struggling to keep up with child support payments for his children.

The numbers vary on how many children the man has, although it is widely reported he has 30 children with 11 different women. Reports claim that nine of the man's children were fathered over the past three years but range in age from toddlers to the age of 14.

Speculation abounds on the identity of the man and if he is in fact serving time in prison. Many want to know that if he is unable to make his payments, who is footing the bill? The answer according to many appears to be the taxpayer.

When Massachusetts' parents have trouble paying child support, there are several avenues that can be taken. When an income change occurs, a parent can seek help in reducing the amount of money owed. In this man's case, the sheer number of children he has to support is likely a large reason he struggles to make his payments. Most people probably will never experience this but avenues still exist to get struggling parents the help they need.
